History
of the Central
Division
The Central Division of Suan Sunandha
Rajabhat University originated from the
central administrative unit of Sunandha
Wittayalai School during the period
1937–1957 (B.E. 2480–2500).
At that time, the school had not yet
established a formal administrative
structure. Various administrative
functions were therefore consolidated
under a unit known as the “Central
Division,” which served as the
central hub for coordination and
administrative support. Its office was
located on the first floor of the
Kannaphonphiphat Building (Building 11),
which has since been demolished for
reconstruction.
In 1958 (B.E. 2501), the Ministry of
Education approved the elevation of
Sunandha Wittayalai School to
“Suan Sunandha Teachers
College.” This transition brought
about a more clearly defined
administrative system, while the
administrative unit retained its
original name, the Central Division.
Subsequently, in 1968 (B.E. 2511), the
Central Division relocated to Sai
Sutthanaphadon Building (Building 27).
In 1975 (B.E. 2518), it moved again to
the first floor of Oraphan Adisaisak
Building (Building 53) and was renamed
the “Office of the
President” in accordance with the
administrative structure prescribed
under the Teachers College Act. Its
responsibilities included general
administration and correspondence,
finance and procurement, transportation,
buildings and facilities, general
administrative affairs, and personnel
administration.
In 1995 (B.E. 2538), following the
elevation of Suan Sunandha Teachers
College to “Suan Sunandha Rajabhat
Institute” under the Rajabhat
Institute Act B.E. 2538 (1995), the name
“Office of the President”
(formerly the Office of the Rector) was
adopted as the official name of the
administrative unit to accommodate the
institute’s evolving
organizational structure and
administrative responsibilities. The
Office of the President was responsible
for supporting the administration of the
institute’s executives,
coordinating with various departments,
and providing general administrative and
operational support. During this period,
its internal structure consisted of 10
divisions. In 2004 (B.E.
2547), Suan Sunandha Rajabhat Institute
was elevated to “Suan Sunandha
Rajabhat University” under the
Rajabhat University Act B.E. 2547
(2004). Subsequently, in 2006 (B.E.
2549), the Office of the President was
reorganized into five divisions: the
Central Division, the Educational
Services Division, the Human Resources
Division, the Student Development
Division, and the Policy and Planning
Division. This marked an important
milestone in formally establishing the
Central Division's status and role
as a division under the Office of the
President.
In 2011 (B.E. 2554), the Office of the
President underwent an internal
organizational restructuring to enhance
administrative efficiency. Three
additional units were established,
bringing the total to eight units. The
Central Division remained one of the
principal administrative units, with its
office located on the first floor of
Building 32. In 2014 and 2015 (B.E. 2557
and 2558), the university continued to
refine its organizational structure and
internal administration. The Central
Division was maintained as one of the
official divisions under the Office of
the President, with its internal
structure organized into sections and
operational units according to their
respective functions and
responsibilities.
Throughout its development, the Central
Division has played an important role in
supporting the university’s
administration and operations. Its key
responsibilities include providing
administrative support, facilitating
coordination, and assisting university
executives and various departments. The
Division remains committed to enhancing
operational efficiency and supporting
the university in achieving its
organizational
goals.
